Hardox 500

Hardox 500 is an abrasive resistant steel with a hardness of approximately 500HB intended for applications where wear resistance is a primary consideration in material selection.
It is suitable for welding, forming and machining.
The Hardox 500 can be welded with conventionnal welding methods used for ordinary or high tensile steel. The filler metal should have a low hydrogen content.
Maximum 5l/100g and its yield strength should be less than 500 MPA.
These filler metals have the effect of reducing the level residual stress exerted on the joint and thereby the cold cracks wich may develop.
